Apollo Adhesives is excited to announce the launch of a new range of PUR hot melt adhesives. These new products, marketed under the Astromelt banner, are a broad range of reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesives. This new range is designed to sit alongside the Queen's award winning Astrolok Fastack group of products, and as such represents another piece in the 'lean manufacturing' jigsaw of Apollo products. These are designed with the beleaguered manufacturing industry in mind to help improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
Reactive hot melt polyurethane adhesives have been used in the UK market place for a number of years, but Apollo's new approach and track record for innovation sees a departure from the norm.
Apollo's past success has come as result of being able to tailor adhesives to suit the customer's requirements, and Apollo has brought this discipline to the reactive hot melt market. No longer will customers have to design their process around a small group of 'off the shelf' adhesives. Instead, Apollo's strong technical team will be able to vary the properties of the adhesive to suit the customer's exact requirements.
Another significant development is the new demonstration facility now available at Apollo's headquarters in Tamworth Staffordshire. This new state of the art unit has been created to allow customers and potential customers to try out reactive hot melts under full scale Production conditions. By doing this Apollo expects to increase the client's confidence prior to them ordering a system.
'Apollo Astromelt potentially offers huge benefits to our customers.' explains Apollo's sales manager Ian Cornelius, 'As with anything new, people are sometimes reluctant to commit to the change especially if investment is involved. The more confidence we can impart to the customer in the suitability of the products the easier their decision becomes. Having identified this, it was logical to create a technical facility where customers can produce their own full size panels using 'off the shelf' production equipment in conjunction with our new adhesive developments'.
Apollo's hot melt line is able to handle panels up to 1.2m wide and 3m long. This means that most manufacturing companies can bond production scale materials using Apollo's facility and have them tested in actual real life conditions prior to committing to the necessary investment.
Cornelius continued; 'We are unique in being able to offer both Fastack and Astromelt to manufacturers for their continuous production needs. By having both options, Apollo is able to offer impartial advice regarding the benefits and suitability of each system so that the customer can make an informed choice'.
